Oxygenator
"Oxygenator is a small, simple RAM monitor, that was one of the first apps to support skins; you're able to design your own interface for it. It sits at your desktop as a small indicator, but has a details screen too."

QWatch
QWatch is "a little tool to show how much memory/space/cpu you have free. The program appears as an icon in your system tray, click it and a window displaying the information will appear. The program takes no cpu while the main gui is hidden and even when it is shown it takes very little system resources (about 2 Mb ram and 0% cpu on an 1.6 Ghz). The program supports drives and ram up to 1024 Tb and unlimited numbers of cpus." With version 2.0 it became skinnable.

QX
QX could be a desktop clock. But it could be your resource monitor too, show diskspace or display info on your Windows version, or... "basicly this program is a freeform skinnable and userfriendly information panel with complete plugin support".

"Rainmeter is a customizable performance meter, which shows CPU load, memory utilization, network traffic and a few more things in graphs." One of the monitors with really advanced options, and freeform skinnable.

Samurize
"Samurize is a system monitoring tool that uses very little resources (less than 1% CPU usage on a Celeron 600). SysMetrix
"SysMetrix is a skinnable clock and metering application. Its purpose is to provide system metrics in a variety of interesting, useful, and cool ways." Beta, but the list of things it can monitor and the several ways to have this technically and graphically displayed, make this a must-see at once!

SystemMeter
Moshi: "a great skinnable application i found recently is SystemMeter by binary-mechanics. This freeware allows you to display various system stats as CPU or time for example in a beautiful way. It has support for per-pixel alpha-transparency (a must in 2004) and also for bitmap meters for the time (what only few apps do)."

WinSystemXP
"WinSystem is a fully skinnable monitoring tool for windows: cpu load (idle time, interrupt time, priviledge time, user time, etc.), memory load (available Mb, cache info, page faults, etc.), network load (bytes received/sent, packets info, datagram info, etc.), physical disk info (disk read/write time, idle time, avg transfer, etc.) and LAN and WAN addresses."
